Trees in Cages - San Telmo

in #plants2 years ago

A popular city tree in San Telmo

When they redid the roads here, I noticed that they had designed a little grate and pot into the sidewalks.

I was passing by and saw what they had planned for these streets. They had bolted a metal cage to the wall after planting this tree in the ground below. I have seen these here and there, usually not on a main drag but rather hit or miss on the side streets.

Here is one on the same street as the one above, but not in bloom.

I uploaded this one several times - if it is only half there pardon me but I usually run out of resources when posting more than one picture.

Lucky I waited to post this blog. I found this beautiful old tree only five blocks away!

Definitely Worth Waiting

I am not sure if you have these where you live but they are an oddity that I have grown to love here in South America. I guess you can call them "Trees in Cages" providing shade for the door to door salesmen.
