Pandanus trees grow up and down the coast here along the shore where land meets sand. The fruit ripens to a bright orange and then falls off the tree separating into individual seed pods.

They can lie dormant for years and survive floating around in th ocean until finding the right place to propagate.

Pandanus tree is also believed by some people to have magical benefits of being able to ward off evil spirit.
