The local airfield that my folks flew out of had a P51-D that was privately owned/restored. It always amazed me just how big these planes were. Monsters indeed! The pilot also mentioned they were a handful. From needing two feet on the rudder during crosswind landings to not being able to see anything in front of you while taxiing.

Thanks, interesting. I did not see P-51 by my own eyes, but our la-5 and Yak-9 i saw. And it is very cool to see them in live.
The P-51 was the Cadillac of the Skies.
