Today I practiced some pixel art of people, which I haven't done before. I'm working on the game mechanics for the Solarium game and will need some placeholder art as I code.
I imagine the version on the right to be the full size, while the version on the left will be a map version. X3
Because Solarium will be done in Ren'Py, there's not really a need for a full sprite set like I would have with an RPG. But I will have to make many versions so I can get the right "feeling" of movement. How you animate something communicates a lot.
As usual, these pixel works were made in the Piskel App. The little map version was inspired by a @shoumi art.
These are lovely little animation people. Their bewildered looks are cuuuute <3.
<3 Thank you very much! X3

I love Pixel art so much. I use the Pxyel program, which I kinda like, but it's been unsupported for years and there are just a couple of little things that would make it so much better... so I inevitably end up in Photoshop... but I'm still not very good... these little characters are great! @shoumi was so inspiring, I love that he actually drew his in blocks of 4 for each pixel... it's so much harder but it looks so good.
It's a weird mix of trying to get detail but also say a lot with little space? I'm really liking the challenge. Thank you!! Yeah @shoumi was super inspiring. I loved his style with those pxlpets. The 4 blocks for the pixel really helps keep the cute style, while occasionally being able to do smaller details.
