I have the Ariane 5 space rocket on my mind, in 1996 ESA, or more precisely one of it's employee wrote a line of code were a number (number are finite in IT programming) was not made to be that big, thus, the code started overflowing the number (passing it not to 0 but to the number in negative since the first bit is to tell if it, the number is positive or negative in signed numbers in IT) and so the variable of trajectory correction got the inverse number once in flight. a costly 370$ Million error.
