I have a fairly long background in Physics.
I studied Physics as an undergraduate and did a PhD in particle physics at CERN - analysing the very first data taken from the LHC. In fact, I think I still have the very first 11 events ever collected by the CMS experiment somewhere.
So.. I thought it would be interesting to know if there are any other people, professional, formally trained, former, or just with a passing interest.
If so, I'll start writing a few articles about current affairs in the field, and possibly even try to get a few inside thoughts from former colleagues.
Oh, also, I'm brand new here, so apologies if this is already covered somewhere else - I'm still exploring!
As a total layman, I do have an interest in particle physics ( and astro physics) I look forward to your posts

I like it an enjoy learning totally as a layman. I like to watch some of Leonard Susskind's vids on YouTube. Not saying I understand it all, but I like it lol.
Having known about LHC for being the largest experiment in the world - I was around 15 (6 years ago) back then - I used to read articles about it. In 2012 or 2013, when the Higgs boson was discovered at the highest sigma level, I got euphoric. Now I'm sending a reply to a post of one of its pioneers and it feels so nice.
