Here is a sunset photo I took that I absolutely love! I took it after a day-long excursion up to the summit of Mt. Tongariro (6,100ft elevation) and back down. This was the perfect scene to end a long and excruciating day full of hiking, photography and memories.
I purposely used the long end of the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens to compress the "layers" of mountain ranges. The light was fading fast and I had to shoot at 1/125sec and f/2.8 which was very hard to hold steady for this long of a lens. ISO was at 5000 which is borderline high for the Nikon D700, but I think it turned out relatively well in terms of noise.
Hi. Thank you for adding the details, ISO and so on, :)
that time of day is great for photos. Great colors!, i like the result :)
Very nice photo!.
Thank you so much! I like to always include those details since I hope to teach other photographers about camera techniques and technicals.
