This is one of the more colourful members of the family Tyrannidae. Races are found across the southern third of South America, from Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Uraguay and southern Brazil. There are literally hundreds of species in this family, the vast majority are drably-coloured and nondescript in appearance, this tiny bird is one of the exceptions! Beautiful photo shot.
