I had a trip to SaPa last February and honestly I always want to come back again. The mother of Earth gave Sapa a gift for the climate, the landscape, everything was so amazing. If you had 1 chance to visit Sapa, please enjoy every single moment here.
So this is some of my experiences traveling Sapa, hope you like it!
Where is Sapa?
Sapa is about 400kms Northwest of Hanoi. Sapa is beautiful in every season, but I came here on February as known as "snow season". At this time Sapa is very cold, also the blossom begins to bloom. Many couples come up here for wedding photography or join Fansipan climbing group.
Sapa is surrounded by clouds just like a floating town. Sapa is also the destination where you can admire the wild beauty of terraced fields, waterfalls, majestic boulders. Exploring the customs and cultural beauty of ethnic groups such as Black H'Mong, Red Dzao, Tay, Dzay.
How to get there?
We went there by train from Hanoi. You can choose the time as suitable the most for you. Because going by train take longer than bus, then we chose going at 9p.m and arriving at 5a.m. If you took a train, you would pay $22 per ticket. It's only $10 if you took a bus, but the more cheap, the less safe.
Where to visit there?
I can count at least 10 places you must visit in Sapa. But I myself had the chance to visit Cat Cat village, the Ancient Monastery, the Stone church, Ham Rong mountain, the Love waterfall, Ta Phin village, Ta Van village, Fansipan legend, and believe me they were so stunning. You will have to pay service fee when visiting these landscapes. Total is around $50. They do organise a group of tourism and guides are accompanied but the service is very poor. The best way is renting a motorbike and discover Sapa yourself. It may save your money and you gonna enjoy the most.
What to eat?
Coal baked food is a specialty of Sapa. You should eat in the evening around Rock Church area. The price is very reasonable for tourists, a 4 persons meal is only about $20. You can also choose to eat hot pot or ethnic dishes in Sapa but the price will be more expensive.
Total price?
My group has 4 members, we have to pay $150 each and I think it worth for the trip. I will work hard and save money to visit Sapa again :))
