Took some pictures in Fredrikstad which is my home town while the sun was on its way down

Fredrikstad Library is located in the Cicignon district of Fredrikstad. The library is Østfolds largest and built in the period 1922-1925. In 1926 the entire library was ready for use.

Glomma or Glåma is the longest river in Norway with a length of 604 km long. It's a meander river. The river has its headland in Aursunden north of Røros and flows into the Oslo fjord at Fredrikstad. Glomma is the mainland in the waterway with the same name, which has a total drainage area of 42 441 km² (422 km² in Sweden).

The old town is the oldest part of Fredrikstad city. It was founded September 12, 1567 on the east side of Glomma, where the river divides into two races. King Frederik II signed the township letter and Fredrikstad became the first Norwegian city founded after the Middle Ages and the first that the King allowed to be named after the King himself. The old town of Fredrikstad with its unique urbanization within the well-preserved fortifications from the 1660s makes it Europe's best-preserved fortified city.
