Sayram Lake, located in the north Tianshan Mountains of Xinjiang, China. It’s a mountain lake with the highest altitude, the largest area and beautiful scenery of Xinjiang.
Sayram Lake called "clean sea", it covers an area of 453 square kilometers. The average depth of water is 46.4 meters, the deepest reaches 106 meters, and the volume of water is 21 billion cubic meters. The water is so clear and transparent that it is 12 meters in transparency. It is also known as the "last tear of the Atlantic" because it is the last place for the warm and humid Atlantic air.
Sayram is a high mountain cold water lake, the lake water in addition to some of the surrounding small rivers, mainly by groundwater recharge. Every summer, the lake is clear, the grass is luxuriant, the vast grassland, the curtain is small, the smoke is curling up, the herd of cattle and sheep, the horse galloping, make up a moving landscape painting.
In winter, the lake is covered with white snow, the lush green pine and white snow are reflected, which is oval with icebergs in the snow, like the white soft silk wadding in aside with a piece of green jade, a magnificent view of the snowy plains of north China.
Since the Silk Road through Sayram Lake, there are cliff paintings, the ancient tombs of wusun, temple ruins, aobao, inscriptions, ancient post sites, etc., and the Lake District culture remains and rich.
The lake has long been known as the lake monster, the lake heart wind tunnel, the vortex and the lake bottom magnetic field and so on legend, this gives the beautiful scenery of the lake and the mysterious veil of the imagination.
