How to recognize a Steemit boss! (Original wildlife photos and thoughts)

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

They are like Giraffes!

“BOSS = Built on Self Success”

In this world, the word Boss, sometimes, has a bitter taste associated with it. Boss, conjures up an image of a fat, blood sucking loud mouth, who orders people around. It is politically more correct to be a 'leader' these days. Isn't it?

However, believe me people, there is nothing that prevents a boss from being a good leader. A leader, however, can not always get the bad ass attitude towards life and be a Boss. The Boss necessarily has an awesome stature - not 'one of the masses' for sure.

At Pilanesberg in South Africa early this year, as this lady Giraffe majestically cat walked across the road, stopping traffic, all I could think about was - wow - what a bad ass boss this creature is. So different from us mortals, who are wallowing around on a plain about 20 feet below it's field of vision! I captured the image in my Olympus M10, which was the only camera I had at that moment in the car. Here is the full image:

At that point in time, Steemit did not exist in my life so I only thought of the bosses in real life as I looked at the giraffe but when I was organizing my pictures today, I looked at the giraffe and noticed how similar the big boss steem users are to giraffes. I find the following signs that indicate that a Steem user is a boss like the giraffe. Some are serious observations but some are just plain fun observations so I recommend you have a pinch of salt (or a bucket full if you like) ready as you read them!

The Boss Steemians look at everything differently. Their head, that is to say their thinking, is way higher than many of us mortals. For example - you and I may look at the Steemit ecosystem as a means of blogging and perhaps making some money. However, a user like @zeartul looks at the same ecosystem and thinks about creating a bellyrub bank!

These boss steemians are not afraid to think outside the box. Their vision gives them a 'bird's eye view' and allows them to select a course of action clearly.

These boss steemians carry their unique personalities, eccentricities and style with pride. They turn their personalities and passions into irresistable magnets by reflecting them into everything they do on Steemit. Many Steemians like @stellabelle, @papa-pepper and @kaylinart are so intense and passionate about everything they do. They bring their own unique spots to the party.

Steemit has it's own unique flavor, far better than any other social media platform due to the spots proudly carried by such great personalities.

Like birds flocking the giraffes, riding on them and feeding on the ticks, many steemians - large and small, minnow/dolphins/whales, flock these boss steemians. These bosses, sometimes single handedly, manage to build whole communities! Look at @aggroed, @ausbitbank, @teamsteem, @donkeypong, @dragonslayer109 or @surpassinggoogle to notice how they support their flock.

These magnanimous steemians feed hundreds. I do not mean just with upvotes. They support little minnows through interaction, guidance and mentoring. They also set an example of what can be achieved on the Steemit platform.

At last but not the least - in a bit of a lighter vein:

Ever wonder why many of our posts make a whopping 1.2 SBD or something grandiose like that while the posts by these boss steemians make 100+ SBD? We see the post coming in, say to ourselves - "now, here is a post I need to comment upon to impress this Steemian". By the time we action that thought, before we even blink our eyes - 'kachingggggg' the said post has 100+ SBD and 200 votes! These boss steemians sure have an ability to reach the fruit on highest branches, like giraffes. We, the lesser mammals, think of taking up pole vault even to reach the low hanging fruit!

These steemians manage to produce posts that constantly remain trending for days! Take @sweetsssj as an example. The lady has panache, style and an ability, like an ATM machine, to produce instant cash, the moment she posts!

What gives these boss steemians ability to work magic like that? The answer is that they have managed to grow long necks like the giraffe. The long neck, in Steemit terms, is the hard work they have put in over many many months in cultivating relationships, supporting fellow steemians, researching and producing great content. Like a giraffe taking time to grow that tall, these boss steemians have put in time and effort. There is no free meal anywhere people. We all need to work hard.

In conclusion:

The success of the boss steemians is self built.

BOSS = Built on Self Success

We need to recognize them, observe them and adopt their Giraffe qualities

Steemians, please share your experiences and views on the subject. It will be great to get more perspective and a lively dialogue going. Thanks

Nice Shot of Giraffe!!

To be a leader we need those Giraffe qualities for sure ;-)

I always had my own business, so I know how it is to manage people around and to have diplomacy sometimes, sometimes put my strong opinion to work, be flexible but not look weak, sleep late and wake up earlier, hear many things u don't like and try to not TILT, lol is not easy be a BOSS but it is worth it!! :-)

MEOW MEOW
This is my Mini Boss lol

Thank you for your nice comment friend. You are absolutely right about it not being easy to be a boss but it is worth it. Applies to Steemit too.

Thank you for your lovely comment Nainaz. I appreciate the kind words

Looks to me being a boss is: having lots of steem power and upvoting your own post :D
My internet is too slow but you can check if that's the case.

visit me @unnun

@unnun - Thanks for taking the time to read my post. It is true that some Steemians with high SP do resort to self voting but not all of them do. I know many steemians with a lot of SP, who take time to produce great blogs, interact with their audience via comments or chat and also support the newcomers. A few bad eggs will exist on any platform, We can not take their behavior as a norm .

@vm2904

I didn't mean it's a bad thing, anybody accumulating that much SP deserves the self vote ;)

Congratulations! This post has been upvoted from the communal account, @minnowsupport, by vm2904 from the Minnow Support Project. It's a witness project run by aggroed, ausbitbank, teamsteem, theprophet0, someguy123, neoxian, followbtcnews/crimsonclad, and netuoso. The goal is to help Steemit grow by supporting Minnows and creating a social network. Please find us in the Peace, Abundance, and Liberty Network (PALnet) Discord Channel. It's a completely public and open space to all members of the Steemit community who voluntarily choose to be there.

Thats a good write, inspirational and to the point, like the giraffe concept :)

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and for your kind words of appreciation.

Thank you for getting this out. @vm2904

Wow I love how you described everyone of these! I love comparing Steemit to an eco system because it totally is! This is such a wonderful post :) I Love the diversity of Steemit, It truly makes it wonderful!

Thank you Boss (lady)! It is people like you that give Steemit character!

@vm2904
