Hello Again Steemians!
This is just one of those views of the old county town of Koprivshtitsa (Bulgaria) where you can see how people used to live back in the days 5 centuries ago and there are people still living in the houses today!
These are some of the medieval houses that have survived through 2 World Wars including the Ottoman era and the Soviet communism throughout the years.
authentic in every shape and form the paint with which they are painted has to be hand made from different pigments so that they can still have that magical facade layout.
In these houses used to live some of the greatest national literature authors, political figures and heroes of the old times! Heroes that have given their life in battle for the freedom of this country and saving it's name! Not long ago I heard comments from foreigners who have never seen what this country is that Bulgaria is just like the third world ore even worse. That made me sad a bit and angry at the mainstream media, because it has led people believe something that could easily be proven wrong. For example, Bulgaria was founded in the year 681AD thus making it one of the oldest counties in Europe, and apart from that it has always proudly carried the name Bulgaria - never changed, never will! I don't think that a third would country or a ''Shit hole'' as Donald Trump said can have this:
If that is not enough, lets jump to the capital city of Sofia. I don't know a third would where people can enjoy working in one of these:
Nor do I know a third would country that has the fastest internet in Europe available at every single corner of the country! As you can see cities in Bulgaria are just as vibrant as any other modern city in Europe.
With loads of new projects to be built, ever growing business interest, malls and shops, cinemas and cafes, you can understand that if people were so poor, things wouldn't have been so shiny. The overall idea of Eastern Europe being a very scary place where crime, poverty and sorrow reign is not true, those are complete lies shown by mainstream media. After all in every country there is a little bit of those aspects but that does not define it. We deal with these issues, and always look up to the future working hard to achieve it. We do this together, helping each other, that is why our country's slogan is:
''United we stand strong''
