Yesterday at Tillamook Rock Lighthouse In Oregon

in #photography7 years ago

Wow, what a stormy week we have had at the Oregon Coast. This was taken with my IPhone 8 two days ago.

Tillamook Rock Lighthouse stands 130 feet above the Pacific Ocean, so you can see how massive the waves have been this week. The local news has been advising everyone to stay away from the beaches all week. Unfortunately we lost a local, and there has been quite a bit of damage to beach houses.

Anyway I was proud of this shot. Thanks for viewing!!!

Hello, I'm Oatmeal Joey, and I think I like Tillamook ice-cream better than Umpqua Ice-cream. My parents went to Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, OR. I grew up in Forest Grove. And I like the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

Excellent timing with this shot, nice work!

Thank you! I was there for a good hour trying to catch the biggest wave on camera.

Wow beautiful photography @tokengirl. I couldn’t imagine being in that Lighthouse. Oceans 🌊 freak me out!

Thank you!!! 😍

Beautiful picture! Breathtaking!

Hey there girl, I'm Oatmeal Joey, and I love this photo. I think I had a photo of this same lighthouse. I might have been there. I was at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. I grew up in Forest Grove, near Hillsboro, Beaverton, PDX Portland, OR USA. Now, I'm near Seattle but Oregon will always be my home. My aunt lived in Seaside and I loved going to the beach almost every summer as a kid.

Thanks for the photo and for living in a beautiful place near ocean and near forest and cheese and farms and interesting people. Be safe during the storms and everything. Sometimes, it is very windy in Oregon I remember like 1997 for example. Take care.

WOW....that heartlifting

Kudos! It is a good lively scenery and the picture was well taken, you really make my imagination works.

So sad the news of losing a member of your community when we are looking at natures pure beauty and raw power, and you have captured that in this amazing photograph. I know first hand the beauty and power of our oceans after spending 12 years at Sea, there are so many amazingly beautiful images to be captured but can also be a very lonely place when at the mercy of our raging seas. I would be proud to have taken this shot - Brilliant. Thank you for sharing with us.
