TimTravels - La Ville Lumière: Paris - Part 1

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Bienvenue mes amis Steemians, bienvenue sur mon nouvel article TimTravels

I actually have no idea if this is correctly written but I gave it a try. Sorry to all French speaking Steemians out there. Speaking of French, in todays TimTravels edition I will take you on a journey through one of the worlds most buzzing metropolis, the City of Light, Paris!

Ever since I got my new Camera I decided to pursuit my passions more actively. I used to love photography und I enjoyed traveling, both however played only a small part in my life. Now, with Steemit some things have changes. I think its time emphasize the importance of what is given here to us.

Before getting to philosophical it's time to show you some of my latest shots! As some of you might have read in yesterday's post @vladikras and I went to Paris. It's was my first time and won't be the last time, that's for sure! Although I come from a big city I was overwhelmed by the fact how busy the streets of Paris are!

We wanted to take an Uber to our hotel but saw pretty quickly that it's pure nonsense and a waste of time being stuck in the traffic. Neither was the metro an alternative option as you can see.

We decided to walk to our Hotel which was located near the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile. We were lucky with the weather as you can see.

What you can see in the pictures above is the Flamme du Souvenir under the arc. It is a symbol for all the fallen people of the first world war that never could have been identified.

Our hotel was only 10 minutes away from the Arc and was quite a nice stay. If you need a good stay near the city center I can recommend you the Hôtel Champerret Elysées.

Let's go out to see more of Paris! Are you ready?

After our first stop at la Tour Eiffel we needed some refreshment. Hands down, who loves ice cream? Probably everyone of us. But did you see this kind of ice cream? Mind = blown!

Tomorrow you will see part 2 of my Paris journey, don't miss it! For all of you Paris lover there is a little quest I prepared. The first who guesses the correct building of which we take a picture in the photograph below will win 5 SBD. Write in the comment what building it is! Good luck

Thanks for following my travel posts! If you enjoy them feel free to follow me and resteem! See you next week in another county! Anything you can recommend?
Yours,
Tim

Woah its very crowded. The hotels are really really nice thou. Mmmmm and that ice cream got my taste buds going, anyone else lol?

I could eat that all day long

Maybe it's the Louvre?

Tim is the building on the last photo The Arc de Triomphe (Triumphal arch)?

I am very much impressed with your post :) :) If I say -- what a great post!! -- then this compliment wouldn't be great, I can say amazed, If I would be an English poem writer like William Shakespeare then I will write a poem and believe that poem will be famous :) :) ..... lots of love from my side.

Thanks for the kind words! Just trying my best

Chat is down but I was lucky enough to see this in my feed. Great photos. I was in Paris once but I was only 20 and had no money at all. I think I'd appreciate it more if I could actually go to places there lol.

Oh I am sure you would spent at least a month in the museum du Louvre since you are a historic teacher lol. Let me know!

Your sentence is correct :D ther is no misspellings in!

You took pretty good photographs, I'm french and so I ofently went to Paris which is a really beautiful city. I agree with you, why taking an Uber or the metro when we can walk in the beautifuls streets of Paris.

I hope you enjoyed the first part of your trip. I'm waiting for other photos ;-), have a nice evening here :)

Great to hear! Thank you :)

Pantheon?

Pantheon (FR. Paris) — historical and architectural monument, a sample of French classicism in the Latin quarter of the 5th arrondissement of Paris, France. The original Church of St. Genevieve, later — the tomb of prominent people in France.
The inscription on the entrance to the Pantheon reads: "to Great men the grateful homeland" (FR. AUX GRANDS HOMMES LA PATRIE RECONNAISSANTE).

BINGO!

Wow! Thank you!

wow! she is so cute! 😍

Paris is on my to do list for sure! I see you spent no expense on making this review, and why should you? :D

Great pictures and commentary as always!

Cheers!

Thanks man! I want to see some French beer!

Haha, I'll make it a mission on my next shopping! Maybe call it 'Timsaid's special' ;)

Those pictures are gorgeous... I've been to Paris with my girlfriend in May and I just have to admit that none of the pictures we took even come close to this. But I did take a picture of the Eiffel Tower at night from a kind of similar angle:

We even tried to take an Uber since the first ride was supposed to be free...
Well in the end we waited for around 20 minutes and the driver canceled because he either didn't find us or he didn't want to get to where we were. In the end we just walked the distance in around 20 minutes and never tried to take an Uber there again.

This shot is AMAZING man!

Thank you! It was one of my favourite shots from our journey aswell.
Mostly taking pictures with my phone since it's faster and easier when you're on the go.
The downsite is that pictures often get a little blurry with bad lighting or when I'm a little to hasty.

Have you been to Versailles btw? The garden is quite beautiful even though I didn't like how crowded this place was to be honest.

Those pictures are amazing @timsaid... That gelato looks like an art masterpiece. I wouldn't want to eat it:/

It will melt faster than you can say "INSERT RANDOM WORD HERE"

HAHAHA I BET!!! One second it looks like art... the next second it is all over my hand lol

Paris is a great city been there several times

And go have dinner at Le Coupe-Chou!

Yes. Great place. So romantic.

Great post (followed and upvoted). Paris is a cool place - we visited the summer before last - the segway tour was a lot of fun.

Great stuff! Enjoy your trip in the City of Light!

I didn't get a chance to stay as long as I wanted in Paris, def will be going back to explore more! Cool pics, I like the one in the underground train station. My favorite place though in Europe was Madrid, you should go there next if you haven't been.

Yet another smashing post! :)

Thanks Tim for a great photo story, really good shots, I see you're not an amateur. :)

Maybe next time you could take us to Bordeaux ? It is said to be the most beautiful French city.

Cheers!

I visited Paris a few years ago.

But this post is very well presented SteemOn
Thank you :)

You are awesome as well!

I've been so many times in France, and even though I don't speak French, I always meet great people.

I am not talking about whole France and French People im talking about my personal
experience in Paris yours might be different as mine and thats ok :) not everyone
like Champange and Moulin Rouge.

Wow, subway is so crowded and Eiffel tower as well, it must be tourist season now

I wonder, if you visited Louvre and seen famous Mona Lisa smile (I heard it's crowded too)

Great post, i just saw the post by vladikras i think your name was mentioned as you went together? My honeymoon is in Paris this year so im looking forward to this. Wonderfull images, will follow you also :)

Beautiful pictures, going to Paris for a week in 4 days, I'll try to make nice pictures like you!

Keep up the good work

Hi man nice post, I just wanted to say that :
"Bienvenue mes amis Steemians, bienvenue sur mon nouvel article " should be :
"Bienvenue mes amis Steemians, bienvenue sur mon nouveau article " because article is "masculin" , so you say nouveau for masculin and nouvelle for Féminin.

You're french is good, i'm curious to know where did you learn it !

Le internet lol :D Merci!

hahaha, nice one, you know you stuff man, cheers :D

I'm not surprised you had problems with the traffic - I've found that in most metropolises it is often better to walk if you are reasonable centrally located. Those ice creams did look good! Looking forward to part 2.

Now, this looks like fabulous fun. It's great to be free to go most anywhere, anytime (lyrics from a Prince song called FREE), isn't it? I'd love to go to Paris. Thanks for sharing. You take such great pics! That's too cool.

Paris is love <3

Wow, Summertime in the city of love. Nice. Thanks for the photos.
