As most of you know I had a short city trip to Munich. I felt like I didn't show you the true beauty of this city. Driving through Munich with a bicycle I rented, I came to a place where people were surfing! Yeah right, people surfing in the middle of Munich. The local river is called Isar and flows through Austria and Bavaria. At this part of the river, they built an artificial wave called the Eisbach Wave. If you want to know more about it, here is some more information.
Not even did people surf but also swim! There was such a strong current that people were literally shooting through the water! Unfortunately I had no swim gear with me.
If you are a town, keep it clean! They even have these little fancy reminders for you.
Steem on, Tim!

It was unexpected place to enjoy surfing.

I agree, not a usual place to expect surfers - in the middle of a huge town :)
You will definitely like Munich.
Thanks for having a look and writing a comment my friend!
Nice post and lovely pictures!
I lived in the Schwabing area of Munich many years ago (for about 2 years). Munich is such a great city to explore and I really liked the people. They were always so helpful as I struggled to speak German. I wish they had this surfing while I was there. That looks awesome!
I agree, people here are very kind and helpful! And nice gif, a know a driver that went 280 km/h and scared me like hell...
Keep sharing... Nicely captured
Holy Guacamole

Beautiful.
that's awesome! I surf almost everyday, but have never done it in a river. Might need to take a trip there just to see it. Do you know how long surfers had to wait for their turn?
That looks so cool. I'd love to visit Germany someday. I love the way they talk.
Some of my favorite spots in Munich here! Great stuff, makes me so nostalgic.
Good
Artificial waves is an awesome idea! No need to wait for the wave, every moment is a perfect time to surf. Thanks for sharing @timsaid
Such a beautiful @timsaid I really loved the vibe. I love water although could never swim but I had no fear escaped death from drowning quite a few times. I felt being in company of mother nature and experienced her unconditional love whenever I could managed to get in water. Now I can swim a little. Nyway Great Post. Cheers!!!!
nice pics i like it
That seem so fun.
I really never thought one could surf in such a place XD
