You can do long exposures using a filter but it obviously limits what you can do and the results you can get. I got mine converted through a company because I would probably destroy the camera if I did it myself.

I have an older sony 5N. Plus this camera is no longer under warranty but works great. I would be willing to convert that one. I found this guy last night. That is where I found the '590 super color' $250 I asked you about. Which sounds reasonable for the work it involves. It's like getting a whole new camera. Lots of creative possibilities.
Yes sounds reasonable. Just make sure the guy knows what he is doing. There is a whole section in Lifepixel about people who have done a bad job and wrecked people's cameras.
