Introduction
I originally posted some from this set a while back. Here are some edits which I just completed.
These are all partial colour IR shots converted to monochrome in Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.

Details/Camera Info
- Nikon D7100 with 590nm IR conversion.
- Nikon 85mm/1.8 lens.
- Edited in Lightroom, Photoshop and Nik Silver Effex Pro 2 (monochrome shots).
Pictures exemplify geometrical beauty in structure, lines, angles, and solidity. Architecture is artistic designs. A geometrical work of art to be appreciated, no doubt.

your monochrome photos convey the sense of abstract art. The brooding sky gives a textural and mood contrast with geometric planes and lines of the architecture. I appreciate this effect and think your art is very beautiful.

This reminds me of a concept I find many people don't tend to think of.
Our architecture impacts our psychology and the way we think.
It makes sense, doesn't it? We live in our architecture, we are surrounded by it, it is what our entire civilization is based in.
The way it's structured, the way it's placed, what it contains, what it represents, all of these things effect our thinking, the way we compartmentalize, the way we interact with each other and the way we interpret things.
Thoughts on this?
I definitely think it does. A lot of modern architecture is quite poorly designed - particularly modern housing and I think it does have an effect.
It's a shame. Go check out "the nerdwriter" on youtube. He does a very compelling visual essay on the subject.

Good shots with nice lines, specially the second and fourth, but I really hate this kind of building 8-).
It's personal taste. I prefer older buildings but I don't dislike modern ones.
Where is this building? It looks like a modern take on the brutalist movement of the early-mid 1900s. Repeated rectangle motif and raw exposed concrete, minimal, if any, adornment.
It's in Newcastle. Not sure what it is called though.

I take it you've been at this for a while they look professional. I'm very new to photography just bought a canon eos 1300d , my first camera and I'm thinking I like to get a macro lens any suggestions. Thanks mike
Thanks! Not sure about macro lenses - they tend to be of high quality but can be quite expensive. Are you actually looking to do macro photography alone or use it as an all-round lens?
Seeing some of the photography on Steemit kind of made me think about it some of the close ups you see are great. The camera came with 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens or do you think that's enough for a beginner to be going on with. Thank you for your reply cheers mike
Absolutely - it is good enough to get close to large objects and get practicing. To be honest macro lenses are great but they are overkill for most purposes unless you are concentrating on photographing small objects or on doing extreme closeups. None of my photos on here were done with macro lenses .

When I look at modern arcitecture I cant help to wonder what happend! 😊 Old buildings are beautiful, just watching them is relaxing! Walk through old european citys is a blast! Newer buildings not so much. Look at Berlin, the buildings that survived the war and what came after..
Well some modern art is amazing but overall the quality is lower with more ancient buildings. I think it is due to people cutting costs and the loss of many of the crafts and trades that were involved in older structures.
Yeah. I sometimes think about what stuff were built in ancient times. Its amazing what man can do! 😊 Bridges from roman times still there, the pyramids.. you know!
Yes and in Britain we have many buildings like cathedrals and castles that are up to 1000 years old that are still standing (as long as they are looked after).
