Clouded Conciousness

"I took these shots on the beach on a visit to my hometown. I've always admired the way that the fog would roll over the valley engulfing everything within its reach. It is something serene, something so calming, something of mystery.

But a fog over a valley differs vastly from a fog of the mind. This kind of mental fatigue is the kind of fog that can wrap you up so tightly you become immobilized. Fight or flight. Struck still in your fears or too tired from running the race against the fog for so long.

As we seek mental clarity & wellness (something we all strive for) calming the mind is a rather important practice to adopt into your life and hopefully master in your own way. I think its important to remember in this era of innovation and technology especially. We find ourselves being constantly swept up in a stream of often all the information we could ever ask for. Regardless of where you turn your focus or intents, this can be quite overwhelming after a while. The more we grow connected to our technology (though it is an incredible tool we are lucky to have!) we can begin to lose touch with ourselves and our body and minds needs. I think its important to remember that despite wherever your hustle maybe taking you, to stop take a deep breathe and reconnect with your desires. Im not gonna preach about doing yoga, or going for a run, reading a book or smelling the roses. Although those are some great ways to blow of steam, boost your energy or find a little slice of happiness in the small things, just do what feels right for you in the moment! If you simply need to remind yourself to take a little break and watch a film, listen to some music (I've been really into binaural beats lately, I find them so calming.) Call a friend, play with your dog thats a great too. Just do you.. whatever that means.

We are obsessed as a society with striving for perfection when we should striving only to simply be. Striving to be our truest selves and not the self we wish to be. Just like in yoga we must listen to our bodies and slowly we will begin to unfold and the stretch will over practice become easier to hold and take the form you wish too see it take. Check in with yourself, question your reality, ask yourself how your day has been in your journal. It can be quite therapeutic to treat yourself as your own friend.

Today I encourage you to stop what you are doing, walk out towards the depths of your own little Beachy Head and stop resisting the fog. Stop fighting yourself, but rather lie in stillness and ask yourself how it feels to be embraced by the mists of your mind. You may begin to see a clearing in the skies. "

Yours Truly,
