Unedited and snowy

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Here are a few straight out of the camera shots from a loose friend's wedding shoot today. I am not a portrait photographer, a wedding photographer, nor a photographer and this is not my thing at all but, I am very, very cheap (read free) so, friends ask from time to time. I actually don't really like doing them because there is a lot of pressure and risk for no return, other than the benefits of helping a friend.

It was nice though as I got to hang out with my other friend who loaned his Canon 5D markII and 70-200 for the shoot. He has been with me for all the weddings I have done and I think we 'work' pretty well together. Since we had to drive 100 kilometers to the location, as an added bonus, he is going to get back into Steemit. He is actually here but has been inactive. Hopefully, my ear-bashing will force him to post again. He is a smart guy who loves problem solving so, I think we could use him.

Again, these are unedited and it was snowing so I will have to go through and make sure there are no flakes in weird spots. I have never shot in the snow like this before and it was a bit of a challenge. I am surprised at these in some regards and considering they are shot in their own front yard, I hope they will be happy with the results.

It is always quite interesting seeing the differences in style's of wedding couples. These two were well and truly laid back and easy going and seemed very natural and happy together. They have been together a long time already so perhaps the wedding is more of a formality than anything but, it was kind of cute because even though they were comfortable together, when I talked to them separately, both were really nervous. I take that as a good sign.

One thing that is nice about taking the photos at someone's wedding though is that I am able to be part of their day and hopefully, provide them with something that they can look back upon with fond memories for years to come. I might post some edits of these later to show a before and after but, I am not much of an 'editor' so, I am not sure how much I will play around with them yet.

Good job! I know that it´s not easy to take wedding photos. Two different photographers took our wedding photos (portraits) because we weren't happy with the work of the first photographer.

My wife one a prize of a photo shoot with a pro and he took some photos of us. We liked the selfies we took better too.

I wish you would have done our wedding photos.

For your next marriage ;)

It is too much pressure.

I hope there won't be next time. Still kinda like him. :)

No pressure at all. Anything is better than out photos from the church and party. Portrait are ok though.

The pictures are lovely as well as the bride. You did a good job here. I remembered the pictures you shared of you and your wife; those were good ones too. I am a very poor photographer. 😂 So I applaud your untalented efforts.

What a beautiful setting for a photo shoot. Don't know much about photography but I can imagine the snow giving a bit of trouble. I take it the snow was very light?

Also, grinning where you were talking about roping someone back into Steemit on a long car ride. So that's what I've been missing in terms of roping people in. :)

Very light.

Yes, you need a captive audience and scream Steeeemiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!! over and over until they say "ok, ok, jeez..." I should really write a guide for @utopian-io

I am very, very cheap

Well, i already know who i will ask when i marry :D I hope you don't mind coming to Russia, since you're already used to the cold :P

On another note, loved the pictures and her wedding dress is gorgeous :)
The first picture reminds of game of thrones :)

I might post some edits of these later to show a before and after but, I am not much of an 'editor' so, I am not sure how much I will play around with them yet.

In my own opinion, I think the shots are great already.

I'm wondering how better it would look after editing.

Thumbs up @tarazkp, I think you should attempt a course on photography too.

Cuz even as an unprofessional photographer, your photos look near-pro or even pro..

You are good with your camera, no wonder they actually wanted you to do the job.
I may invite you over to Nigeria to take my wedding photos too.😁😁

Not bad my friend. The setting was beautiful and the contrast in colors is great. What time of day was the shoot please?

Also I had a friend shoot his film on the 5D I was very surprised at the great look he got.

Around midday.

these are amazing shots dear @tarazkp the couple looks really gorgeous, and hope you had a great time with your friends, and for sure they must be happy with the result, the photos looks wonderful. enjoy.

Didn't know you can make a good photographer, lol Really were nice shots, here in east africa we rarely get snow, so such shots in snow really make me go wow.

Thanks you , good post,s

Glad to be able to read your post, I am very waiting for what you post, thank you for a useful post and also I hope I can like you in the world of steemit, I am still a beginner and not yet proficient I hope support from all steemit, thank you@tarazkp

wow if I get married I hope my wedding gets something like that

great picture you took at that wedding

what a beautiful photo session you took

I love that wedding dress that has those women in their wedding

what beautiful pictures did you take

Despite the pressure you feel for these shoots, I think it's an amazing gift to your friends that you want to take time out of your schedule to arrange this photoshoot for them. I think you deserve all the compliments you got in the comments here, since the photo's really turned out great.

That snow look is cool, pun intended. I haven't seen many wedding pictures that took place in the snow. It's striking though. Especially like the lamp post next to them. It feels very magical. You definitely did a good job if those are unedited.

Hey, the photos look pretty good! It's always fun to go on these photo shoots with you. Of course, it helps that I'm not the main photographer so I can just enjoy and take photos without any pressure. :)

As for getting "back" into Steemit, well, I never really got into it to begin with. I'd like to become active though so let's see. Baby steps. Maybe I'll start by commenting on some posts... like this one, for instance. ;)

the landscape where you took the beautiful photos, really adds a touch of adrenaline to the photos, your effort to make the best photos for your friend have been of great importance, I think that was the wedding gift for the friend :)
