Sony, electronic viewfinder with 5.5 milion dots and rate of 240 fps introduced.

Sony announced a new OLED EVF that surely has the potential to be used by the upcoming Sony A7sIII. The new EVF has a 5-6 milion dots resolution. the 240 fps recovery rate is also an ideal choice perfect for motion ( EVF previous was only able to display at 120 fps ).

Enhancing the resolution on micro displays has traditionally presented problems such as deteriorating image quality due to decreased pixel pitch and inferior viewing angel properties. also variation compensation circuit sony enhances picture quality. after improving the color filter arrangement, it is now directly embedded on the silicon and extends beyond the LED layer. in this way, helps to secure the viewing angel properties while achieving high resolution.

OLED microdisplays are widely used in electronic viewfinder cameras for their superior high contrast, color gamut and high speed responsiveness. Sony, having achieved of high resolution along with high-speed frame rate can now offers realistic and accurate images for subjects use in high-end cameras that demand extremely high image quality.

Sony hopes this high-definition OLED Microdisplay to be employed in a diverse range of fields in other gadgets in the field of augmented reality AR and virtual reality VR.

however, according to Sony the viewfinder will begin in November.
