Flower Hyacinth
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is one of the living water buoyancy species. Despite having beautiful flower, this plant has a very high growing speed so that this plant is regarded as a weed that can damage the environment in the waters. Hyacinth can easily spread through drains, swamps and rivers.
Hyacinth or water hyacinth (Latin: Eichhornia crassipes) is one of the floating aquatic plants. Besides known as water hyacinth, in some areas in Indonesia, water hyacinth has another name such as in the area of Palembang known as Kelipuk, in Lampung known by the name of Ringgak, in Dayak known by the name of Ilung-ilung, in Manado known as Tumpe.
[1] Hyacinth was first discovered by scientist Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius, a German botanist in 1824 while on an expedition in the Brazilian Amazon River.
[2] Hyacinth has a high growth rate so that this plant is regarded as a weed that can damage the aquatic environment. Hyacinth is easily spread through water channels to other water bodies.
