Himalaya Wildlife Photography : Ultramarine Flycatcher
Flycatcher birds plenty in the Himalayan belt. And you'd come across plenty of those varieties in the region. You can see that the Ultramarine flycatcher are found in the Himalayan foothills and the south India. Though not all south Indian states have them. But some of the states surely you can find some flycatcher bird species. There are color variations in male and female. The female seems to be more darker on the feather side. And the male seems to be more colorful and attractive looking.
The one in the image spotted is the male. Their nesting period is from March to July. And you'd find the couple period during December to the February. And on that note you can see that these birds do migrate in some cases. And it's easy to find them in West India and the South indian states during the December region. It's one good bird to watch. However these birds more observed in numbers in states such as Aasam, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand etc.
