Himalaya Wildlife Photography : Asian Barred Owlet
This owlet is seen in most of the Asian regions. So it's not limited to the Himalaya. It just happens to be in that region. And I got a chance to capture it. It's pretty much easily seen in the woods region of the nepal, tibet, west bengal and many other places. You can see that some of the places in the wildlife may not be easy to observe. But they can be not so easy to spot once you are out of the wilderness. As they tend to avoid the humans and even sight of them makes them fly away usually.
The one in the image is spotted near the himachal. It's in the woods where it was spotted. And there were other birds nearby too. So they don't seem to be posing any threats to these birds. So it looks like a good sight to spot it. I am sure it won't be hard for you to spot them if you are in himalaya region. There are some chances you may find them in the places nearby uttarkhand too. So keep your eyes open for them.

I am Yvonne Novela :)
Beautiful! I was travelling around Kerala once and a had seen a flying black squirrel that was first spotted in 1990 and is only found in that region. Couldn't capture it though. Perhaps it was meant for the eyes and not for the camera :)
That's a great experience. I have seen lot of birds like that could not even get a chance to identify their subspecies. :)
Thank you for bringing us these beautiful photos of these amazing animals! Owls are my favorite kind of bird!
I am glad you liked it :)

I used their tag daily on every post. So they kind of banned me for using tag too many times.
Oh, WOW! This is an awesome capture, @skysnap! I love the expression on his face, and his eyes are a gorgeous shade of green. The Barred Owls that hang out in the woods behind my place are a light brown color - the darker shade of feathers on Asian Barred are a wonderful contrast to the green leaves. Awesome stuff!
Indeed they are awesome. Only thing is they have small eyes compared to other subspecieis.
What their eyes lack in size, they certainly make up for in intensity! 😊
