I was lucky enough to attend last night's Emmy Awards in downtown Los Angeles. I work in television but I'm also a fan. I loved being part of the celebration for a great year in television. Among my personal faves of the year were the big winners Handmaid's Tale and Big Little Lies, along with The Crown, Westworld, and Atlanta. For me (and anyone attending), the Emmys are a long day. I invited my friend Jason as my guest. This is a pre-Emmy pic around 2:30pm before heading to the event:
Once we got downtown to the Nokia Theater (traffic was crazy waiting to get dropped off), we walked the red carpet. Little known fact is that there are two red carpets. A red ticket gets you access to the main red carpet where the entertainment media members are interviewing stars and nominees. A black ticket puts you on a parallel red carpet directly behind the main one. This is mostly done to streamline red carpet traffic and reduce the number of people on it. I was lucky enough to have a red ticket so I walked the main red carpet.
After the long red carpet walk, we reached the front of the theater.
In the 15-30 minutes before the show begins, the lobby of the theater is a mess. There a ton of people that need to get to their seats before the live show begins.
This was the view from our seats:
One of the big highlights of the night was Carol Burnett and Norman Lear presenting Best Comedy Series together:
When the show's over, it takes a long time for the big crowd to exit the theater!
Next up: The Governor's Ball
A lovely dinner is served at the tables as singers entertain:
All in all, it was a fantastic night!

Sounds like an amazing night never knew there were two red carpets
Thanks, it really was a very fun night!
What a wonderful night. :)
It really was! And it was fun to share with everyone here!
Well, that did sound like an amazing night you two had! :)
It really was amazing! It's fun to get dressed up for a night like that!
Haha.. of course it is! I just keep waiting for something big to take place in this part of the world too (Pakistan)... Something along the lines of Coldplay, Armin Van Buuren, U2, etc... Sad to see this self-created imbalance in the world I am part of, where one place is deemed safe, whilst the other one is considered to be a Call of Duty map or something :/
Amazing Place
It's really one of the craziest, fun, most amazing things I've gotten to do.
That's a night you must not miss :) Congratulations @schmidthappens!!
