If you have ever attended an Indian wedding, you must already know that they are grand and pompous. It's a big celebration that lasts anywhere from 3 to 4 days. Also, it is not just the coming together of two people but rather two families. So, you can only imagine the kind of festivities that one can witness at an Indian wedding.
Recently my cousin got married in Nepal and I had the pleasure of attending her wedding as I was already there visiting my parents. Today, I want to share some photos of the same with you guys. Hope you guys enjoy them as much as I did the event minus the awesome food that is ;)
Most of the guests from the bride's side stayed at the same hotel. This was the view from outside the window:
Woow Amazing picture, thanks
Thank you :)

A wonderful post indeed and such a wonderful event, and the hotel looks pretty luxurious and welcoming...
Whats missing is the food and we love to eat! Awww! Never the less, do take pics if you get another opportunity as that would be wonderful to get a glimpse of the tasty & savouring dishes! Haha! 😜
Cheers & God Bless!

This is amazing! Would really love to experience an Indian wedding once in my lifetime.
Yeah, you have to once in your lifetime. It's a totally different experience!!
You look so different here.
I guess everyone does in wedding attire.
Haha, I mean your profile pic is very old. You look so different from your profile pic.
yeah my profile pic is like 5 years old LOL
That's what I thought, how could a person change that much.
Gorgeous wedding! I love all the color and life you were able to capture! Beautiful
Thank you for the kind words :)
You're welcome!
I must say man, you're so right when you put "indian weddings" and "big" in the same sentence. I'm mix indian myself however, that is REALLY GRAND. I don't I've been to one that's of this altitude.
So happy you got a good impression of it though, I mean our food is somewhat confusing! Thanks for sharing and putting a smile on my face. Cheers!
#follow4follow
Yeah they sure are big! This one was one the biggest I've been to. The food is always awesome man ;)
i love seeing traditional wedding like this.
so awesome 😍😍😍
Thank you. I'm glad you liked the post :)
This is so beautiful. Just had our wedding this past week in Southern California.
Thank you and congratulations!! :)
amazing pix. i would really love to attend one...i think its time to see the real thing and not just how it is shown on tv
yeah, the ones showed on TV are not that realistic to be honest. You have to witness one in real life to see just how great these are.
nice picture, i want to help me by your upvot
Thank you :)
very nice hotel...looks similar to Marco Polo
Yeah, it was really nice. Was so much fun to be there.
Who pays for all that? It looks expensive.
The families of both the bride and bridegroom.
wow thank you for sharing. This seems like it must have been a wonderful experience!
It really was :)
Awesome , amazing and foodie stuff
Yup, it was an awesome experience!
real Indian wedding!!!! but wait.... where is super dancer of this wedding ????
haha the super dancer!! lol
It is always plenty/ nuff food to indulge in at Indian celebrations. Roti and curry are a must!
Yes, the food is just yum. Every single time! :D
Everyone looks really great! fun times!
Thank you. Yup, they sure were!
That weeding looks like so much fun, i'm jealous! I can't wait for my Indian friend to get married so I can attend his wedding.
The dancing, the food, and honestly the whole celebration as a whole look so fun when I watch videos on FaceBook and snapchat! Have fun!
Yeah! It's an experience more than a wedding. One really must attend one in his/her life. Lots of fun.
you post sweet ..
Thank you :)
Honesly, the pix are cute... No offence, I can now deduce that , there could be an interface between high poverty and spending too much on festivals in India...
yeah, the spending is too unnecessary for sure. But people just like to go all out on celebrations here.
Very nice pictures, seems like u guys had lots of fun at that wedding! Best wishes to the new couple. Thank you for sharing
Thank you! We sure had the most awesome time. :)
OMGSH!! I've always wanted to go to one. Festivities for days! :) Well I got to go to a hybrid Indian American wedding, and that was so fun!
Is the bride in the white dress on the last photo? I love the dresses!
Yeah, the festivities continue for 3-4 days and it's all celebrations all the time :D
No, it's not the one in the white dress. I've mentioned who the bride is in the post.
ahhh I missed that sentence. The beautiful lady in the orange dress. Yes I could see that... it's so elaborate. I guess I always assume the if a lady is wearing white at the wedding she must be the bride. LOL American traditions... :P
haha, I know :P
#fail :P
Such nice pictures. Sounds like a great time!
Thank you!! It really was one of the best this year.
Beautiful post, stunning shots, thanks for sharing :) #keepsteemin
Thank you so much!! :)
Those are great pictures! I think I recall someone saying it is important to wear red/ bright colors at the wedding correct?
Yes, the bride is always in red and everyone attending, well at least the females, are in bright colours.
That is great! Does it have a special meaning to wear red? :)
I'm not sure but I've heard that it does have a special meaning. Maybe because it signifies love? Not sure. hehe
Beautiful photos @sauravrungta
thank you :)
Hi again! I noticed your label as philosopher at heart and country as India... I am from India as well and a philosopher who cares a lot about some social practices that I feel should stop. I wrote my first post yesterday and would like your opinion (I will you will relate to the subject very well). Would you mind spending couple minutes reading this and let me know your thoughts - https://steemit.com/life/@jars/women-are-not-mere-show-pieces-for-sale.
Appreciate your time :)
hey, I read your post and it was amazing. It's so impressive that it was your first post. Please read my comment on it.
Thank you @sauravarungta for taking the time and spreading the word :) I commented back and am following you ;)
Thanks! :)
Your so welcome
My veil was Inspired by Indian culture. I do not want a 3 day celebration though. My wedding cost me about 500$.
Yeah, Indian weddings cost A LOT. Literally a fortune.
Oh I've noticed. Way too much money
Very pretty hotel. Nice hallway.
Yep, it was really luxurious.
Great post, I would love to be invited to a wedding like that, beautiful. Thanks for sharing I enjoyed the post!
Thank you so much!! :)
Great post man! Your attempt is awesome bro! I have tried myself to post about India in my recent post! https://steemit.com/travel/@alexkoshy/lesser-known-reasons-to-visit-india
Thank you man, I appreciate it :)
I was hoping to see some pictures of the delicious food. But, thank you for not posting them which would have invoked uncontrollable desire to have them 😄
LOL yeah, I totally forgot about it as I was too busy savouring all of it ;) lol
As a wedding photographer, I have always loved how beautiful Indian weddings are. I've never had the opportunity to photograph one, however, but would absolutely love to one day. We get mostly traditional Christian weddings where I am located, so I would need to do some studying of the traditions of an Indian wedding before agreeing to take one on.
Yeah, Indian weddings is a lot of work, even for a photographer. So many ceremonies that need to be shot and recorded. In the US, the Indian people who get married do not follow the traditional Indian style (It's what I've heard). So, to experience one I guess you would have to come to India.
