You would normally expect to find abandoned buildings on the outskirts of the city, but here we are, in the heart of Bucharest. Lipscani Street is located in the historic center of the town. The area is crowded with pubs and tourists visiting the city.
Right on this street, look for number 33. You’ll find an impressive construction, completely forgotten. There is an access point (a window, totally broken), so you can take a peek inside. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a lof of information regarding the history or the owners of the building.
Not long ago, on the ground floor you could find the Margo Lounge Caffe restaurant. Also, The Vault Club was located in the basement.
In the building plans from 1911, the family name Chrissoveloni was mentioned. Based on the photographs from that time, it is clear that the building was constructed before 1930. Back then, only the main lobby and the balconies were done. The extension of the building began in 1934 and ended in 1960.
After revolution, different companies tried to conduct their business here, but all of them failed shortly after. Today, here you can find a large dirty hall. The decorations and the colors of the room, remind you of the old restaurant. The other rooms were empty and without any particular architecture.
Let’s check the view on the rooftop.
I feel like the rooftop would have been a great place to enjoy a drink together with your friends. Such a shame they didn’t take advantage of this building.

Thanks, friend! Glad you liked it.
Excellent photography work! It is so sad that todays construction is so cheap and bottom line. The beauty of this building lacks adjectives. We had theaters like this when I grew up. My favorite place was the Fox theater. My Mom would give us 50 cents for bus and popcorn -probably so she could take a break as well :) it was heart breaking when it closed down in my town.
Wow, looks amazing. Thanks for sharing!
That looks incredible! Yes, it's hard to find buildings made with so much attention to details these days....
Amazing images and a very interesting read ... keep them coming!
Thank you, Ellie! I will :)
Nicely done!
Thanks!
Keep on doing this! It is one of the projects I like in here. Every week at least one episode!
Thank you. I'm trying my best to continue the project and provide quality content.
Nice one, we pass by it every day and we didn't even notice :D
Thanks, buddy ;)
I do like these episodes a lot! Nice pictures by the way!
Hey, greetings! Thanks for feedback!
Outstanding building. Excellent ceiling, beams and cornices. It is pity that no individual doesn't have enough funds. I can imagine it as a nice foreign embassy.
I agree with you. That would be awesome.
Very interesting. Do you have any idea of the building value? Or can you make an estimate?
I don't know the exact value of the building but based on its position (historic center), it's pretty big. Maybe $ 200k + at least
$200,000? Over here in England, York, a property like that would cost millions! You can't even get a small 2 bedroom detached house for that. I might have to move to Bucharest and live like a king :D
I'm not that good at approximating buildings :D, but I'm sure it is more than that, that's why I said "at least".
When you buy it in 5 years with all your money from steem you can tell me exactly how much :D
haha :D, sure. I'll invite you to a drink.
Nice one. It's actually weird that nobody occupied it yet or that you didn't find anyone sleeping inside or something 😄
True... I guess it's too fancy for their taste :)
ahaha btw they did #steempark in NY, imagine what we can do here. #SteemHotel? :)
:)) yeah... rofl
Good post follow me back
Cool pictures
Very nice place. You could make a great relaxing pub with good music books a projector and some popcorn.
Uhhh
Thanks! Yes, I agree. There are many applications for this kind of position & space.
