A mammal of squirrel family. They are long and bushy trail, sharp claws and big-edged squirrel. They move from the tropical rain forest to the Arctic tundra region. It can also be on the ground tunnel from the peak of the tree. [3] There are three white striped spots on their backs.
According to the Schedule I of the Wildlife (Conservation and Security) Act of 2012, the species is preserved. [4]
In 2009, three three-cardamom squirrels were found in the banana building campus of Dhaka University (F. palmarum). Professor Monirul H Khan of zoology department of Jahangirnagar University said that the three-pistachio squirrels are found in the Dhaka Zoo and Mirpur Botanical Gardens (Botanical Gardens).
Apart from the Sundarbans, they are found in most of the districts of North-West and South-West areas of the country. Often these are seen in Rajshahi, Naogaon, Natore, Chapainawabganj, Jessore, Kushtia and Rajbari districts.
