This picture was taken outside St Georges Hall in Liverpool.
I absolutely love this area which also includes a whole street of buildings in the Neoclassical style, containing museums and Liverpool's central library.
The site of St Georges hall was formerly occupied by the first Liverpool Infirmary from 1749 to 1824, but the foundations of the current building were started in 1841 and the building opened in 1854.
St Georges hall was used as a location in the filming of the series Peaky Blinders and this has always been one of my favourite areas of the city atmospherically.
The statues give it a grand feeling and I felt that it could be a good area to experiment with some more Selective Colour Photography, especially with it being a cloudy day, with the stark contrast between the turquoise of the horseback statues.
I used a combination of layers, with one black and white layer as an overlay to create greater contrast between the darker areas, and then added an alpha layer to the colour image using the 'Eraser tool' to meticulously colour in the two horse statues.
Let me know in the comments if you agree, or if you think I'd have made a better image by focusing the colour on different subjects in the photograph.
