Like I went swimming in a giant aquarium! But in fact, I was "only" snorkelling at the Whitsundays. As part of a day tour, we were given a noodle, a wetsuit and a snorkel and off we went!
In honesty, I am the person that normally doesn't want to know that a giant fish just swim past her legs. I feel super uncomfortable swimming in water that I know has fish in it. But somehow, when I am snorkelling I don't mind that anymore. Gosh, I even admired a reef shark enjoying some leisure time on the bottom without freaking out.
Why is it that while snorkelling I don't realise that these fish are actually swimming around me?
Fishiess!
Yes this is a very high quality comment.
I appreciate it more than you'll understand ;)
That's why I like spearing. The fish don't have to be hungry; and there's an element of sportsmanship in find yourself potentially joining them on the menu.
I can't get the image of you spearing Nemo out of my head...
