nectared, honeyed
dulcet and embracing
feathery silken finger tips
mimic the mid-summer wind

currents and traces
mercurial and scented

light locks and dark curls
wreathe and entwine
we are rooted together
yet master flight

take hold and let go
offer joyful surrender
bestow gentle domination
trust in the warmth
energetic expansion

turn your face to the west
allow velvet restraints to slip
bloom and flower


anticipate
the vernal equinox
trust in the rebirth
of the roses our youth

The Lion is Me

on your wall hangs a painting
through watery depths
you are propelled
enshrouded in blood and fire
coolness cannot soothe
waves cannot tell
