Oahu, Hawaii! Now this place of dreams is somewhere you definitely need to go! From where we are in Washington State, it feels like we barely see the sun but the 6 hour fight to Hawaii was worth every penny! There was way to much to even post all at once so its probably going to have to come in a post or two
Anyways October of '17 we made our little trip to Oahu to visit as many places we could! We did everything we could imagine! Walking around with a 8 month pregnant wife might seem like a challenge but this woman is a CHAMP! from kayak surfing to hiking up to the pillboxes in Kailua we did it all.
What do you do when you get to Hawaii? YOU GO STRAIGHT TO THE BEACH! If theres one thing my wife loves, its sitting at the beach. I would say it would be me but hey that beach was pretty freaking nice. We went to the Kailua beach park, on the west side of Oahu. The island of Oahu is the most populated tourist island, flooding in with thousands of new visitors every day, its a pretty small island, a old friend i of mine Matt actually biked around the entire island! (i used to be stationed in Hawaii, you could say it was pretty awesome) He said it took him about 20 hours but hey if thats what you want to do when you get there please feel free!
Taking a quick second to take a look at my wife and how pregnant she is on this trip. haha i think the horizontal stripes make you look skinnier right? haha This was taken on the Marine Corps base in Hawaii where i was stationed. they have some awesome chocolates in the Navy Exchange that we absolutely DESTROYED, a perk of a pregnant wife is we both eat like kings!
THE BEACH? AGAIN! who ever said you cant go to the beach more than once in a day! This is actually the beach in Honolulu, the big city in Oahu. I love this beach because it always feels way hotter than the other side of the island, but there is way more people there. I would say if you do go with your family and you have smaller kids these beaches would be the place to go. They have lifeguards and there is a sea wall to protect you from the big waves and currents.
Although beaches are what Hawaii is known for, thats not my favorite thing. My favorite thing to do is eat all the food! Oh man the seafood, the Poke, the sushi and the beer! the Hawaii Beers are my favorite. Big Wave from Kona Brewing Company is my absolute favorite.
you can not beat the food here in Hawaii. anything you want you can definitely find it. from the amazing hole in the wall places to eat to the big giant fancy restaurants Hawaii has all my favorites.
Hawaii is a place of wonders, beauty and magic but be careful. Hawaii is dangerous. The waves and the currents don't care much for people! The hiking terrain is unforgiving. The one thing that always comes with beauty is danger, but if you make it through and plant your feet in the right places, you get views like these
I hope you enjoyed the pictures! (yes mostly of my wife) but if you have any questions about your upcoming trip to Hawaii, places to go and things to do let me know please i would love to answer any questions! I do have to go take care of my Daughter now, thankfully she wasn't born in Hawaii but stick around for the rest of the photos and what we did!
Weather and View both are amazing... Nice photography. Stay blessed
thanks!! i appreciate it!
looks like you had an amazing trip! such great scenery :) my parents went back at the end of september and the weather was beautiful! they stayed in maui and loved it! Your wife must have soaked in all in before your daughter made her way into the world haha
oh yeah.. we couldn't get enough of it! sad coming home but oh well, now we have a beautiful little girl and couldn't be more happy!
