Really nice photo, even the original is excellent. It would fit perfectly into some horror story about being alone in the desert :)

I use mostly Gimp and Lightroom
In Lightroom, do you reuse your own created filters? Or do you start each photo from zero?
Usually Zero, I probably should save some but I feel like each one needs its own adjusting since light and exposure times can be different.
I agree for single image editing it's probably the best to start from zero so you don't have "infected" view if you jump to a filter.
I usually use saved filters just to give a little color boost for "everyday" travel pictures.
