The Glorious "Greta Andromica" Greta andromica, the Andromica clearwing, is a ithomiine butterfly from the subfamily Ithomiinae. It was described by William Chapman Hewitson in 1854. Spanish: Greta Andromica es una especie de lepidóptero ditrisio de la familia Nymphalidae de alas transparentes. Es comúnmente llamada «mariposa de cristal» o «espejitos». Esta especie presenta unos comportamientos especiales como largas migraciones y lek. El lek es una agrupación de machos que competirían por el apareamiento con hembras. El macho no suele ocuparse de la descendencia, éstos se agrupan en lugares específicos para las exhibiciones y las hembras los seleccionan. Esta preciosidad suele verse en los valles de Caracas, Venezuela. ¡Y no se creerían cuantos bichitos raros he encontrado por ahí!
