- The Frame Dubai
The Dubai frame is an architectural landmark in Zabeel park, one of Dubai's stunning latest attractions and one that is perfect to practice your architecture photography skills. It is a 150m high viewing platform that offers sweeping panoramic views showcasing the old Dubai, from Deira’s old town and the glistening waters of the Arabian Gulf to the relatively new Dubai, an awe-inspiring array of gleaming skyscrapers, shimmering marinas and other feats of modern engineering, the frame provides two very different perspectives of the city. The Dubai frame has been described by the Guardian as the “biggest picture frame on the planet”.
The experience is enhanced by the impressive gallery on the ground level, which leads guests through various audio projections, visual presentations and curated scents and mists for an authentic retelling of the city’s origins.
- The Miracle Gardens
This absolutely breathtaking garden is home to more than 150 million blooming flowers which are all showcased in a variety of incredible designs and sculptures, the latest addition to the family is a giant sized mini mouse for all the Disney lovers out there. Among the many other exhibits, keep your eyes open for the Guinness World Record for the worlds largest flower arrangement, of the great Airbus A380 superjumbo aircraft made entirely from flowers. Magical! Colourful and stunning photography shots will be captured surrounded by all the magnificent flowers in full bloom.
Close by another great visit would be the Butterfly Garden, which houses over 35,000 species of butterflies in custom built domes. Do however, check before you head out there as its usually open every year from mid- November to mid-May, and tends to be closed during summer.
- The Dubai Mall
Dubai mall is home to a beautiful huge indoor waterfall, a choreographed stunning outdoor fountain and the giant Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo which houses both King and Queen Croc - the worlds largest crocodiles. Burj Khalifa can be viewed from the outdoor entrance of Dubai Mall, and it is a fantastic opportunity to capture a beautiful portrait photograph with the Dubai fountain with Burj Khalifa lit up in the background. An entire day spent at the Dubai Mall is still not enough time to see it all, with its 1,200-plus shops and 150+ restaurants, there are plenty of things to do. A handful of activities for the kids as well including an indoor theme park, an ice rink, and kidzania!
- Seaplane Tour
Thats right a seaplane ride is a must do! A seaplane is generally my most preferred option as compared to a helicopter tour, a seaplane ride is calmer, it gives you a more scenic view due to larger windows and most importantly offers a unique water take-off and landing. Sounds fun right? During the ride you will pass over the luxurious palm island, the world island, Burj Al Arab and many more locations. Unobstructed photographs captured from above, of Dubai’s coastline, its architectural marvels and the beautiful symmetry of modern structures as well as traditional desert landscapes are truly spectacular. A seaplane tour is without a doubt the best opportunity for photography in Dubai.
- La Mer Dubai
Enjoy laid-back fun at Dubai’s new quirky and recently opened eclectic beachfront location. Explore bustling colourful backstreets, tons of fantastic restaurants and treat the kids and yourself to action-packed fun at the most exciting outdoor water park, or kick back on the beach with a few drinks and a good book.
