Surprisingly, they were quite successful at rallying, so don't laugh, you infidel 8-). I owned and used a DS for 10 years and I greatly enjoyed scaring my passengers by doing 100mph+ on sand tracks. Comfort is not affected much by poor terrain.
That sounds pretty damn fun. I would love to own a DS if I had a large enough garage and the money to buy one :)
