Upward
Happiness has usually always been associated with up. Why this is I don't know. Perhaps it comes from centuries of men looking to the stars for the future, hoping it would be a bright and good one.
I often find myself trying too look upward in times of abasement and despair. Perhaps this is why life is always brighter through the eyes of a child. Forced to look up to see the world and interact with it, good things are above them, a future they currently can only fantasize about.I see a little guy having a blast. It's times like these that one doesn't seem to care about being pulled down by the world. It's times like these that one remains in the moment, and maybe that's all that matters.
Don't fall
We live in a world that's designed to pull us down, but don't let it. Fight to stay a'flight, Fight depression, negativity, hate. Go out and roll in the snow, sing in the rain, bring back a few moments of childhood.
And most importantly, keep looking up!
- What do you see in this picture?
- Do you think this kid is having fun?
- When's the last time you did something childish
Of course! That is why I called my recent post: Up, Up, and Away!
Don't bring me down @peter-parker, please. You are so deep. I wanna be forever young. I do actually agree about the brightness in the children's eyes: "that's what I mean".
I'll try not to @ant-man, but please try not to float away;)
I have the stones in my pockets, I'm just learning for sure...
All the best, R
Glad I don't have stones in my pocket!
Hi Peter, I will soon publish Geometry exercises but I need your help.
I was still waiting for Lady Sif's picture.
But I think you're busy, therefore do not worry, please.
And remember: "my door is always open for you to help you study for your entrance exam". I recommend!!!
Best wishes, R the antman
What are you learning @ant-man?
The truth.
Awesome shoot @peter-parker! We should learn from the usually positive child attitude!
You're so right @airmatti!
I LOVE this photo. Compliments!
Thanks!
Ohhh...My..my...! What an Awesome capture! Moreover the enlarged view, is truly awesome!...so magnificent!...
Loved the innocence of childhood and such a carefree life !!!
Cheers!
You’re awesome too!;)
Pleasure, indeed ! :)
I think he's definitely having fun, I see the water blocking out the world except for the light at the end, he can do anything he wants in this world. I do childish things almost every day! I loved the intro text, I'm not sure about the up=happy thing, I've never thought about it but you're totally right. Maybe it's the heaven/hell thing, I'm not sure, but it's an interesting thought!
Glad you're keeping that childish spirit! Don't let go of it;)
Here's a link about up making us happy.
@peter-parker It has been a long time since no publication has been published. I hope you are fine.
I love Black & White photography
What do you think?
That would be more sepia than blacm and white right? Nice shot btw!
t.
That's okay, it's still monochrome;)
If by long time you mean a week then yeah, it's been a while;) No worries!
Is this your shot @venox?
Nice post brother.
Thanks!
Looking at the enlarged image you can see he's 'soaked to the bone' so he's been jumping in puddles, running up and down the pavement and in and out of all the fountains, dancing to his heart's content, squeeling his lungs out in joy.
And now he's stopped for a little while to catch his breath and to feel the wettness of it all and just how good it feels.
I look up to the stars each night before going to bed. And if I wake up in the middle of the night, it's another chance to talk to the stars again. 🦋
I wouldn't mind jumping in a fountain too;)
Che bell'immagine!!! :-)))
Grazie mille;)
WOW! an extraordinary photo.
the moment you catch it and the black and white balance is great. really very successful. congratulations
Thanks;)
Beautiful photography, kids just love water, it's a natural attraction, even if it's cold they will feel a force pulling in the water direction.
And adults seem to have an unbreakable attraction to money, even when unattainable;)
Sad:(
I think a little boy enjoys in his pure, innocent world. But it does not show much happiness. I wish the boy jumped up and raised his hands. But then there would be no dilemma. Water gives a symbolic to this photo.
The last childish thing I did. When I run with my pupils, we keep paper windmills, wind in our hair, and watch the power, wind energy. How fast and strong the wind turns the wings of our windmills.
Sounds like fun
muy buena toma de foto como para una postal, si creo que este niño se este divirtiendo y bueno algo asi de niño diria que no hace mucho ya que no soy tan mayor jajaja, saludos hermano desde Venezuela.
@calitoo
That's an interesting point. I've never thought about the origins of looking up before but we certainly do the opposite, look down when we feel unhappy.
I heard it's actually scientifically proven that physically looking up can put us in a better mood, so I always try to put this into practice when I'm feeling down;)
Beautiful photo!
Can i use my cartoon style art on it?
See my blog for examples from other Steemian's photo's i did.
As you wish @news-today;)
I posted something on my blog. I hope you like it.

I think the kid is having fun for sure! Lovely black and white picture! Great that you are posting your work to Steemit! =) also, the last time I did something childish would be today. I deliberately stepped into some water collection on the ground after rainfall with my timberlands. It felt great ☺
Let me know if you like or dislike my edit! Lets get some actual discussion started on our great platform, instead of the superficial: "great post" or "beautiful picture" comments =)
t.
Love it! I usually don't edit my photos, apart for a few exposure tweaks.
What did you use to edit this?
Very beautiful photo
So are you;)
That's a brilliant photo!
The kid is definitely having fun!
I see the water dancing gracefully but I think the kid sees the water as giant enemies and he is getting ready for a battle!
You're probably right, something like that. And he has a magical unbeatable thumb ;)
That's probably his secret weapon! :)
Where is this photo taken?
So funny. It seems we were on the same wave length, sort of. My post was about having a "meh" day and yours is about fighting those same kind of dark days.
My husband and I were just talking about the times we used to make angels in the snow and wondered if there was an age limit to doing that....I said of course not, I'd do it, let's. He said "what would the neighbors think"? I said...."they'd think that they could come and play too.!!"
I love your photo and the little guy playing...I wonder if he's fighting unseen warriors or maybe he's practicing tai chi :)
Go ahead, make snow angels. Can I come too? ;)
Yup, only if you bring hot chocolate. :)
Ok, will do
Child life photography wonderful.
Thanks
Love the contrast between the child and the lighter background. Plus the horizon vanishing in the background.
And on top of that, thanks for the words of encouragement, Pete.
Got to love that contrast;)
Great symmetry in this shot!
Thanks;)
Good pic!!! Well done!
I like my steak well done too;)
time to fight against all the odds and be a champ great message it gives nice shot dear spidey :D
Yes, be a champ!
Lovely capture!
Thanks;)
You're welcome!
post is very good buddy remember when I was little when our thoughts are still positive in the picture now see your post is very impressive @peter-parker
Hope you stay positive!
that's a really good shot and the thoughts are reflective nice :)
I love reflecting;)
We just have to hold on and move on !
True!
nice click... and really i miss my childhood, best time..
Me too:(
very nice post... you can find it in the eyes of a happy child :) @peter-parker
You mean my post is in a child's eyes???
I think my brain just exploded;)
I think that happiness is associated with up, because life itself springs upwards. Plants literally grow up. Animals and other life forms basically do as well. Injury and death pull you closer to the ground and eventually underground. That's a very cool photo. Your writing and photo made me think of this song instantly.
True man, thanks for the comment;)
Very interesting concepts about looking up @peter-parker I definitely think you are onto something here. We adopt tunnel vision mentality when the eyes of our spirits hover too long over circumstances that don't appear to change for the better. It's very important to look beyond; to change our perspectives and to look up. Dark clouds dissipate eventually and are inevitably replaced with light fluffy clouds which part in the presence of radiant sunshine. When I looked at your image above, I saw a young innocent boy entranced by the wonder of those manmade water features on either side of him. He'd probably never seen anything like it before and in his absorption, he forgot about his bare feet, his childhood fears and insecurities and was lost in the moment. Yes, Peter, its high time I took a leaf out of this little boys book, kick off my shoes and go and stand in the middle of a water fountain to cool down in the midst of our summer heat and ignore the frowns of my grey haired contemporaries. Great advice!
Sorry Lady for my bad English.
I built huts in the woods and played with Indians and Cowboys with my brother...
Where there was the wood and the stream, now there is cement!
Best wishes, R from Switzerland
A gray jungle @ant-man;)
Beautiful comment @trudeehunter, thank you! Go ahead, be a child, I'm all for it;)
Ok. I will @peter-parker And if anyone frowns at me, I'll shrug a nonchalant shoulder at them and say, "Peter made me do it!" (:
He is definitely having fun. Sometimes we should be like children and enjoy like them without thinking about the problems :)
Good advice!;)
