Check out this little Prairie Kingsnake that we found!
This is another one of those great reptiles that we just didn't have up in Wisconsin. We have found quite a few mature ones in our time here, but this was the first juvenile that we have come across. I decided to put it up on a tree branch to get some good shots where the side and belly patterns would also be on display. Enjoy the photos!

Hey, @papa-pepper! Thank you for sharing awesome photos of all things wild. This snake is pretty and I am glad to see that he is being taken care of. I had an incident just yesterday when a group of ladies came to me with a dead juvenile boa on a stick. I was so sad. It almost made me cry. Then I got upset. Then I tried to explain that boas are not venomous. but he bit me! I need a hospital
Turns out that they were trying to pick up the snake and he did retaliate and grazed the woman's arm. Not much of a mark. The folks here are terrified of anything that moves in the grass or in the trees. Trying to educate them to appreciate instead of fear is a tall order. We have an agreement now that when they see something they fear ie snakes, frogs, toads exectra, please come and get me or my Swedish friend who does know than me but is not always available.

How do you find all these things??? I had one up in the eaves of my old house when I was married... My wife called me at work panicking! I race home and here's this poor snake with a guy from Animal Control (scared to death) poking at him with this hook thing. I sent him away... and told my wife- they eat mice and all the other stuff you don't like.

Hi I like the pics, is that the snake that mimics a rattle snake , uses its shed to appear like a rattle snake at the end of its tail, are you familiar with what I'm talking about?
I know of a lot of snake kinds that will shake their tail to appear like a rattlesnake but I have never heard of one using its shed skin to do that.
I'm not too sure if that's what it is, but the one I'm talking about, not only resembles the rattle snake, but it also has a tail like one. this snake reminds me of a rattle snake in appearance

You do not feel afraid of all of these? In your third last post, You made a spider's tattoo and you were playing in that video with that spider.. Scary..
I have a certain respect for animals, and often, that's enough. No need to fear most of them.

I love me some kingsnakes, though I am not as familiar with the Prairie version as I am with the California species. Beautiful scales -- looks like it just shed. Are you are a herpetologist, or do you just run across snakes?

Photographers are highly underrated in contrast to artists. Capturing wildlife and the world as it is should be more appreciated, instead of traditional forms of art which demonstrates more of the artist's view od the world

Thats snake same as tree colour..so if we dont careful i think its very dangerous for human
