I was driving home from Tahoe. I decided to celebrate the 4th with some old friends that lived up there.
On the drive home, I kept telling myself how beautiful the drive was on Highway 395. That's when it dawned on me that I should document the drive.
So, I am going to start a new blog documenting California, at least start with California. I want to document the Californian country-side so viewers can see a beautiful part of the state many never get to see.
I hope you all enjoy the photos. Without further ado.
Bridgeport: A California Cow is a Happy Cow!
Bridgeport is a cute little town with a population of only around 575 people.
Highway 395 between June lake and Mammoth
Lol, this photo took 10 minutes. I kept running out in the middle of the road trying to get a photo without any cars in it.
It's amazing how quickly the topography/landscape can change throughout the state.
A little shack just off the highway north of Bishop
Owens Lake
Owens Lake is a dry lake. It has a really interesting history. The lake is dry due to the Los Angeles aqueduct. Los Angeles may of never been what it is today if it wasn't for Owens Lake and the aqueduct.
Owens Lake
Owens Lake was so large of a lake in the early 1900's they used to say it was quicker to take a steamboat across it than it was to drive around it.
South of Olancha
Pearsonville: The Hubcap Capital of the World!(At least it used to be)
Pearsonville's abandoned park
Although all the stopping probably added 1-2 hours to my 6 hour drive, it was well worth it. It was fun and actually gave me a little boost of energy. It actually helped to get up and move around every 30 mins.

Thanks for checking it out.
Love that drive! It's a bit stark on the southern end but as you go north...gorgeous!!! Upvoted & following you! Welcome to Steemit!
Thanks! I will be following you as well.
In future posts I hope to actually 'accentuate' some of those stark areas,. At least I can hope. The desert in California has a lot of history and can be very beautiful. Lol, as long as it's early in the morning or late in the evening.
Thanks for the follow!
Keep cool out there...can't wait to see what you post!
