Last November I spent 2+ weeks travelling in Myanmar. I've been extremely pleasantly surprised by what I've got to experience. A country filled with beautiful landmarks and wonderful, kind people.
We started off in Yangoon where we saw the great Shwedagon Pagoda.
Near that amazing temple we also came across this old bridge.
Once you get past the crazy traffic in the city you can really enjoy yourself and have many great experiences.
It's also definitely worth visiting some of the local markets. If you're not into the local food, it still provides amazing scenery.
Later we made our way to the magical city of Bagan to witness the countless temples and pagodas.
One of the highlights of this trip must be this stunning hot air balloon flight we went on.
The view makes it so worth it for getting up at 4am that day!
Being able to see the sun rise from new perspectives is truely mind blowing.
After that we took a bus to Mandalay to explore more temples.
If you are a fan of old temples and the buddhist religion, Myanmar is a must - put it on your bucketlist!
There are countless Buddhist monasteries to visit.
The locals, young and old, all ages, are all very very friendly.
The U Bein Bridge is a remarkable old piece of history to visit. The sunset brings out the true beauty of the oldest and longest teakwood bridge in the world!
To finish the trip off, we stayed at a beach resort with a really wide stretched beach.
Always a plus point no matter where you are, when you can see the sun set on the horizon straight from the beach.
And if you're not a friend of salty water, there is always the great alternative of taking a dip in the pool!
That's it for now guys! This more or less sums up the amazing time we had in the beautiful country called Myanmar.
Let me know in the comments what your favorite picture is. Mine is the one with view over bagan from the hot air balloon with the other balloons in the back!
Also, let me know what you would like to see more of. This is just a small fraction of the pictures I took. Would be glad to share more pictures and stories about one specific photo/location.
Until next time!
