📸 The pyramids at dusk - the wonders of Egypt - Original photos

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Egypt is hands down one of my favorite places to visit. It is a magical place with amazing people. I really want to go back once its not as dangerous.

Anyways, during one of my trips, I snuck up to the roof of my hotel in Cairo and free access to get some pictures from above the bustle of the city. The smog can get pretty thick around the city, so there were times I couldn't even SEE the pyramids from here! It would get thick then go away for a while, but never fully clear air, which gave everything this foggy type ambiance

Here is a picture from the next night where I took a camel ride around the pyramids themselves.

very nice picture. unfortunately, i have not made it to Egypt yet.

Thanks! I HIGHLY recommend it once its more safe. I've been twice and want to go back to explore more of it!

The roof seems like a perfect place to grab some shots! Makes me want to see the pyramids even more.

Yeah it was the only place I could see more than 1 block, its VERY crowded there, buildings and satellite dishes EVERYWHERE. So sneaking onto the roof was a big help for getting some city shots :) I'll be posting more Egypt pictures so keep an eye out

Would love to get to Egypt one day, is it quite dangerous right now? I just read an article a few weeks ago that said Cairo was quite safe. Beautiful photos anyhow!

They are still a bit wonky from the arab spring and muslim brotherhood, christian churches are getting blown up and whatnot still. I'm sure there are places much more dangerous and places with little possibility of it, I haven't researched it recently, I just have been seeing a lot of news reports about violence and terrorism there :(

The sky of second shot is incredibly great!

Thanks! Maybe that perpetual smog can sometimes work to a photographer's advantage. It was quite odd to see how the pyramids would literally disappear for a while, then the winds would blow the grey dust elsewhere and you'd have a perfect view of them.

Very nice photos. Nice place.

thanks, yeah Egypt is amazing, I highly recommend it once it becomes safer :)

superb original photographs, I highly appreciate this #photography! Such quality photo shared on #steemit worth reward! 👏👏👏

Thank you :)

Great pics. Upvoted and followed! Did the smog ever make for some interesting unique photo-atmosphere or did it just get in the way?

For a few shots (which I will post here in a bit) it helped give the photo a little more to look at, but for the most part it was kind of sad. The pyramids would literally disappear and I couldn't see them from the rooftop, then wind would pick up and I'd have a clear picture of them :/

Beautiful landscape, these colors are amazing.
