Investing on Steemit

in #photography7 years ago

After a year of being in this incredible platform I've finally decided to start investing my fiat money to start growing a little bit faster.

My brand new camera!

But the SBD and STEEM prices hasn't drop enough —sadly for me— and has remain with higher prices and fighting against the general market drop like real champions, so I've decided to invest buying some hardware to improve my posts.

A little step...

Since I've arrived to the community one of the themes that make me more curious was photography and video. And thanks to my sort of active life —derived from my running hobby— I was able to visit some towns and see some amazing landscapes, but most of the times I felt I couldn't't take an image that really shows it as I would like.

So far there have been two main cameras that accompany me, a Sony action cam —the FDR-X3000— that uses every time I go out to run, and my movil —a Huawei P9— that has take most of the pictures I've shared so far on the site.

I had to say that it's an excellent setup. The P9 has a very capable camera, but there are some times when start to be a little short for I want to take and the Sony is an awesome camera to shoot video while running for the image stabilization, but not for taking photos.

And that is the excuse to buy a new DSLR.

A big step?

I've decided for a Canon T7i/800D kit with the 18-135mm IS STM lens and a pair of extra lenses, the 50mm f/1.8 and the 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6.

My idea was build a basic kit to start learning in more deep way the photography field. With the 50mm I'll be taking some portraits and some street pics, the 10-18mm to landscapes and architectural and the 18-135mm as a polyvalent lens.

Certainly having a dedicated camera is not going to make me take better pictures but it's going to give me more freedom, and of course, I'll have to learn something new to improve and recover the investment.

Of course the main reason is to improve even a little bit quality of my future posts and grow faster in the community.

So I really hope you stay and accompany me on the next months and years.

Greetings.

Un saludo.

I’ve been considering the same thing... it is definitely tempting.

Well, my advice is that if you have the chance, take it.

Some times we live afraid to take the chances, but if you like it go for it and at least try it, right?

Greetings from Mexico.
