Every travel destination has its own highlight. You all know the touristic hotspots, where crowds of people are filling up the prettiest sand beaches or where thousands of selfie sticks are blocking your view. In my opinion the best spots aren't the most popular ones. Get rid of the group intelligence and ask the locals. That's what I did while visiting the Greek island Crete. My favourite places are always the ones which are most photogenic while offering a taste of local charm. The photo you see down here has been taken in Argyroupoli. This small village has its touristic parts like the fishponds down the road, but the upper corner is simply gorgeous. Right next to the road you've got an awesome view over the village's old town. Take some time for a stroll around the narrow streets and if you're not alone get your camera out for some portraits (the variety of backgrounds is endless).
Mountain views
Have a break at the small cafe or try the avocado skin care products. The best time for the panoramic shot I mentioned above is of course sunset/golden hour. But as you can see I got some decent Mediterranean vibes even in bright daylight. As a conclusion Argyroupoli is my picturesque place of Crete.
