Assilah is a city located on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, south of Tangier. Its old town, or medina, is surrounded by well-preserved ramparts and gates, built in the 15th century by Portuguese settlers.

The medina is an art center renowned for its murals and for Moussem, an annual international cultural festival. In the city are also the Center of Hassan II International Meetings (exhibition space) and the palace of Raissouli, dating from the early twentieth century.
