Lisbon to Barreiro Ferry ride and pictures

Dear Hive folk,
today I want to share a couple of pictures I took on a small trip from Lisbon to Barreiro.
in between huge cruising ships and the big container terminals of Lisbon are a couple of ferry’s terminals. From there you can cross the Tejo to the Setúbal District.

(You can take the Ferry from Terreiro do Paço Metro / Ferry station. The ticket cost 2.50 Euro per trip.)

One of the municipality’s there is Barreiro. It is not very touristic but can give you a quite nice impression of the authentic Portuguese life.

In this post i want to share some pictures of the view you have on the ferry while crossing the Tejo. Please enjoy the ride!

Shortly after docking off, you will have a nice view of Lisbon’s Praça do Comércio

As we continue, you can see the container terminal of the Port of Lisbon.

And of course, the famous 25 de Abril Bridge.

After just a couple of minutes, you will see the shore of Almada which is another district of the Setúbal District.

We cruise along the coastline and we can enjoy the view of nice apartment buildings and small harbors of Almada.

We also cruised by some interesting looking factory’s. As i have a love for industrial buildings, i was happy to take some shots of those buildings too.

This factory had a pretty interesting design. I could not figure out what kind of factory it is. Please let me know if you know more!

This is my favorite picture of the day. That industrial building, the modern building and the mountains in the back are looking very nice together, if you ask me.

After about 25 minute we slowly arrive at the Barreiro harbor.

Here you can see the ferry harbor.

After a short while walking around the harbor area, we took a ferry back to Lisbon.

To go back i during sunset or after sunset, is something I can recommend you! The light of the sun during sunset is amazing.

Also, the view of Lisbon is quite nice when the lights start to shine at night.

I hope you could get a small impression of the ferry ride from Lisbon to Barreiro. If you ever come here and you have some time, you should try it yourself! Actually, there are some nice places to discover in Barreiro. And you have a nice view of Lisbon from there. The ferry ride itself is also very convenient and fun to do. Sometimes the ferry can be a bit crowded, it might be better to avoid the rush hours.
