People from all over the world visit the magnificent St John’s Cathedral located in the city of Brisbane. The grand scale of this cathedral becomes prominent upon approaching the front of the structure. With over 15 stories in height (about 163 ft) and the first stone foundation being laid in 1901, it was only until 2009 for it to officially be called ‘complete’.
The cathedral is exceptionally well built. Its design is described as being “French and English Victorian Gothic Revival”. It demands a sense of awe and appreciation for its architecture and is created from all stone. This includes the ceiling being fully stone vaulted (an exceptionally rare trait).
This photography collection dedicated to this cathedral, is an appreciation of old architecture, detail and a grand history.
