Glass Beach - Fort Bragg, California

in #photography7 years ago

Well the glass wasn't as big and as abundant as @haileyscomet and I had thought but still was amazingly beautiful!

Beautiful - happy trails!

My family took me to this beach as a kid 15 years ago, you could find pieces of sea glass as big as half dollars everywhere. Tourists have over visited this place and ruined it by taking glass home. I went back to visit in 2017 and was surprised how small the sea glass was now.

Wow such a nice place and the stones are awsome looking very beautiful i wish i should be there

I simply cherished this beach. I want the glass became in no way ending, but you could tell with all the folks that visit and take a chunk, it wont be round all the time. Its simply so beautiful.

This is so beautiful.
I am from Australia and when I visit the USA later in the year I will definitely be visiting this beach.
Leave only footprints and take only photos.

Great pictures, that's beautiful. My gf would be going crazy she loves seaglass. Last spring we were up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we went for a long hike down the beach and my girlfriend was dragging behind the whole time picking up rocks. I noticed my backpack kept getting heavier and at the end of the day I realized she had put about 5 pounds of rocks in my bag.

Some really beautiful photographs. What I find a little shocking is how much the photos look like the coastline here in the UK. If you told me that the photos were taken along the Jurassic coast just before you popped into your local for a pint of Doombar I wouldn't be at all surprised. Tis a funny old world.

Impressive. I’m unable to travel much. Nice to see and learn about diff types of places. Photography, art are big w/ me too.

i need some of glass for decoration.

Do you by chance maybe know the reason for so much glass on the beach?

Yes, an old glass making factory just dumped it all in ocean!

Well luckily it is beautiful sight now. One of the very very few occurrences when people pollute but something nice comes out.
