The winners of the Press Photos of the Year Awards, organized by the World Press Photography organization, are announced.

World Press Photo, the world's largest participant and prestigious photography competition, announced the winners of 2018. The World Press Photos Awards, which have been held since 1955, were reviewed this year in 8 categories. 4,548 photographers from 125 different countries applied 73,044 photographs to the competition held this year. The jury awarded artists in each category, "Singles" and "Stories" in these two different categories.

The 2018 World Press Photo prize was worthy of the square this year, Venetian photographer Ronaldo Schemidt immortalized. There is a participant who continues to protest despite burning in the anti-government protests in Caracas at the bottom of the photographer. If the name of your photo is "Crisis in Venezuela". Juan Barreto, who photographed the same protest as the story, won the third prize in the Story of Spot News category.

A Strong Weapon for One-Story Storytelling
Schemidt was there when a Molotov cocktail hit the Venezuelan National Guard motorcycle and the demonstrator kicked him. Schemidt, who also witnessed the explosion afterwards, began to frame without waiting for that moment. The photographer says that after seeing a square, a person who is burning is experiencing the shock. Magdalena Herrera, who is also the reason why she is worth more than the photographer who won the prize of single karenin stories, says "one frame is a stronger storytelling."

Editor's note: Some award-winning photos may contain annoying images for some readers.
