G'day.
Aussie feller here... If the G'day didn't give that away...
I've only just heard of this steemit caper after recently getting started with crypto currency trading...
Anyway, I'm a (very) amateur photographer, from the Yarra Valley, in Victoria Australia.
Whenever I can I travel around the Aussie bush (and on rare occasions, the big smoke, or a beach), four wheel driving, camping, and taking photos of stuff i find along the way, and I share these on facebook, and now steemit . I try and research or find out whatever history I can of the subjects and share that as well.
So here is an intro pic.... This is a selfie from a place called 7 acre rock, looking out over Gippsland in Victoria...
And here is another.
This is from The Victorian High Country, which forms a large part of the Great Dividing Range, that pretty much the entire east coast of Australia.
This little hut is called "Wallaces Hut".
Built in 1889 by the three Wallace brothers - Arthur, William and Stewart. Originally built from Snow Gum logs and slabs, with Woollybut (A species of eucalyptus shingles.
Originally built to be used as shelter for stockmen working cattle, and later sheep on the Bogon High Plains. Around 1920-40, the hut was used by the SEC (State Electricity Commission) for workers collecting data on rainfall for the possible future hydroelectric scheme, the roof and chimney were replaced with corrugated iron by the SEC. It is now used mostly by walkers and skiers. This is an easy hut to get to as its only a 1k walk across mostly flat ground, just off the main bitumen road.
So, thats a sneak peak, at this stage I will try and get a couple of posts up a week. I'm more than happy to answer any questions about the subjects of my photos, the photography/gear aspects, and take any constructive criticism..
