Dear Steemians, here some early spring photos taken at the seat of the Steemit Burgenland Academy. I hope you like them.
I am about to prepare some next culture articles for my blog, but in the meantime let's speak nature!
The vegetation is late. We had snow again in the middle of March. Perhaps it's good that the cherry trees, apple trees, the peaches and walnut trees wil be later in blossom as usual. The last two years we had almost no fruit harvest because of heavy late frosts.
The first toads arrived pretty late this year. Ususally, their spawning period is one or two weeks earlier. It was such a relief to see that some of our fish survived. In winter, otters came by from a nearby river and held their meal. But some of our carps are still here and we could feed them already.
Here some scenery and bushes around the pond. The pink-colored blossoms of the fragrant snowball give nourishment to the brimstone butterflies. We observed three of them dancing in the sun.
The pond affords cleaning reghularly. This is nice combined with a short break before lunch.
There is still easter decoration in house and garden, here some motives.
Traditionally, willows are used for making an "easter tree", but I left the willows for the bees and used some dry bamboo twigs.
Between writing posts for Steemit (and similar stuff) and working in house and garden, it is nice to take a walk around the house or to have a tea break in the winter garden.
I like to visit my plants and to watch their development. While the forsythias are only beginning to bloom, the cornelian cherry is already in full bloom.
The pansies make it easier for us to wait for the tulips to bloom.
Here are two snapshots that illustrate what a size comparison is all about. The red buttercup blossom is quite large, but next to the stone ball the plant looks inconspicuous.
Hopefully, like me, you will find that this square of the Steemit Burgenland Academy offers a worthy setting...
Many more nature motifs from the seat of the Steemit Burgenland Academy will certainly follow throughout the year!
Und schon bald erstrahlt wieder alles in altgewohnter Pracht und grüner Fülle. Schen is daham. :)
Es wird, es wird...!!!
